Focus

The International Journal of Hydrological and Environmental for Sustainability (IJHES) [e-ISSN: 2828-5050 & p-ISSN:2828-6405] is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and innovation in hydrology, environmental science, environmental engineering, and Earth sciences, with particular emphasis on sustainable water resources, environmental protection, and Earth–environment interactions.

IJHES provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate original scientific findings, methodological advancements, and innovative solutions addressing contemporary hydrological and environmental challenges.

The journal aims to bridge fundamental scientific understanding and practical applications by publishing high-quality research that contributes to sustainable natural resource management, environmental quality improvement, pollution prevention and remediation, climate resilience, and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

IJHES welcomes original research articles, review articles, and scientifically rigorous case studies employing experimental, observational, analytical, numerical, and interdisciplinary approaches. Submissions should demonstrate scientific novelty, methodological soundness, and clear relevance to hydrological processes, environmental systems, or sustainability.

Interdisciplinary Research

IJHES particularly encourages interdisciplinary studies integrating hydrology, hydrogeology, environmental chemistry, environmental engineering, geology, geophysics, geospatial analysis, and sustainability science.

Research combining field investigations, laboratory experiments, environmental monitoring, numerical simulations, and advanced analytical methods is especially welcome when it provides new insights into water–environment interactions or contributes to sustainable environmental management.

Manuscript Suitability

To maintain the scientific identity and quality of the journal, submitted manuscripts must demonstrate a clear connection to at least one of the journal's core areas: hydrology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or environmental sustainability.

Studies in geology, geophysics, geothermal energy, chemistry, material science, and related disciplines are welcome when their objectives, analyses, or findings provide meaningful contributions to environmental understanding, sustainable resource management, or environmental applications.

Manuscripts focusing exclusively on unrelated theoretical physics, pure chemistry, conventional material synthesis, general engineering, or geological characterization without a demonstrated environmental or sustainability dimension are generally considered outside the journal's scope.

IJHES prioritizes scientific originality, rigorous methodology, transparent reporting, and findings of broader relevance beyond the immediate study area.
